Some Portuguese banks are less strict about this or do not actively check it. Exactly what age varies from bank to bank. Sometimes they then use a certain weighting percentage (&#8220;pondering&#8221;) of current income as future retirement income, sometimes they look at the actual pension to be received.<\/p>\n<p>If the pension income has already started then Portuguese banks will test with that pension income provided it is a pension guaranteed for the duration of the mortgage applied for.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-panel panel-default panel-1b149b522afedbbb2 fusion-toggle-has-divider\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h4 class=\"panel-title toggle\" id=\"toggle_1b149b522afedbbb2\"><a aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"1b149b522afedbbb2\" role=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#1b149b522afedbbb2\" href=\"#1b149b522afedbbb2\"><span class=\"fusion-toggle-icon-wrapper\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><i class=\"fa-fusion-box active-icon awb-icon-minus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><i class=\"fa-fusion-box inactive-icon awb-icon-plus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"fusion-toggle-heading\">Rental income<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div><div id=\"1b149b522afedbbb2\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"toggle_1b149b522afedbbb2\"><div class=\"panel-body toggle-content fusion-clearfix\">\n<p>Most Portuguese banks include existing rental income as income. In doing so, it varies from bank to bank what percentage of it is taken as income. One does not look at the net rental income: so the existing mortgage expense of a leased property will be considered in its entirety in the review of the mortgage application.<\/p>\n<p>If the feasibility of a file depends on future rental income, an application will usually not be approved.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-panel panel-default panel-a5a4c87b9d10d37b0 fusion-toggle-has-divider\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h4 class=\"panel-title toggle\" id=\"toggle_a5a4c87b9d10d37b0\"><a aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"a5a4c87b9d10d37b0\" role=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#a5a4c87b9d10d37b0\" href=\"#a5a4c87b9d10d37b0\"><span class=\"fusion-toggle-icon-wrapper\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><i class=\"fa-fusion-box active-icon awb-icon-minus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><i class=\"fa-fusion-box inactive-icon awb-icon-plus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"fusion-toggle-heading\">Income from assets<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div><div id=\"a5a4c87b9d10d37b0\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"toggle_a5a4c87b9d10d37b0\"><div class=\"panel-body toggle-content fusion-clearfix\">\n<p>If there is no or little regular income, but the income comes from assets, some Portuguese banks are willing to look at the size of the assets to assume a certain fixed income from them.
